ANIMAL SANCTUARY BUILDING & OPENING 2024/2025
One on one Equine support sessions
At Heart Farm, we believe in the profound healing power of the human-animal connection. Our equine therapy sessions offer a unique and transformative approach to emotional and psychological healing, fostering growth, self-awareness, and grounding.
Equine therapy, also known as equine-assisted therapy, involves guided interactions between individuals and horses. These powerful, intuitive animals help participants explore their inner worlds, gain insights into their emotions, and develop a deeper sense of trust and communication.
Horses are highly sensitive to human emotions and nonverbal cues, making them exceptional partners in therapeutic work.
Our experienced facilitator Sammy guides participants through meaningful experiences with our herd & our rescued Brumbies, who have found a safe haven at Heart Farm. Together, we create a nurturing environment where individuals can connect with these majestic animals, build confidence, and cultivate a sense of peace and well-being.
Whether you are seeking therapeutic support for trauma, anxiety, depression, or simply wish to explore personal growth, our equine therapy sessions offer a compassionate space to heal and flourish.
Open to all ages
OUR HEART HERD
At Heart Farm, our herd holds a special place in the sanctuary and in the hearts of those who visit. Each member of our herd is not just a horse; they are trained and attuned to the emotional needs of those who seek healing and connection. Their emotional availability and sensitivity make them invaluable partners in our therapeutic work, offering a unique form of support. These incredible beings are integral to the holistic care we provide, fostering profound connections and nurturing the spirit of everyone who spends time with them.

Leo Moon
Leo Moon, an 11-year-old palomino quarter horse, is the leader and guardian of our family and land. He came into my life during a deep journey of self-development and healing, mirroring my evolution. Leo has been my dream, teacher, and guide, always two steps ahead, attuned to our needs. His sentience and connection to humans make our bond profound. I believe Leo is a soul contracted to journey with me, holding space for growth and healing. Sometimes, I have to remind him to just be a horse. I’m in awe of him every day and wholeheartedly embrace the journey we’ve created together.

Oka | Euroka
From the moment I met Oka, I was drawn to his light, innocence, kind eye, and trust. When we first met, he seemed to know we were meant for each other. Both of Oka’s parents were involved in equine therapy, and he carries that same gentle, emotionally available presence. He has a joyful spirit that lights up a paddock, and though his communication is quiet, many are drawn to him. Oka leads with innocence, his big heart and deep care for every being he meets.

Brumby Rain
Rain’s story is close to my heart. Growing up on my parents’ property, I often interacted with free-roaming brumbies. In 2019, a brumby colt was born on our land. After a rainy week, I found him at the bottom of our property. He chose to stay with me, despite his family visiting often. Rain's presence deepened my bond with the brumby herd, who began trusting me with their foals. I strive to keep him connected to his wild nature. Rain is sensitive and different from our domestic horses, requiring mindful interactions. He plays a special role in our healing spaces, offering raw and honest connections. I’m grateful to have him in our herd every day.

Venus & Flame
We are thrilled to welcome Venus, a beautiful Brumby mare, and her gorgeous filly, Flame, to Heart Farm. Rescued from our local state forest, this bonded pair have found sanctuary with us, where they can thrive and trust.
Venus and Flame symbolize hope and the promise of a fresh start. We look forward to supporting them as they adjust to their new surroundings and become an integral part of our space.
Our Brumby Experience is more than just an encounter—it's a personal journey into the wild gentle wisdom of our wild born horses.
Growing up on my parents' property, I was surrounded by Brumbies free-roaming the community. My first interaction with these majestic creatures was when I was just 13 years old. They would visit us, sometimes needing care or simply a sanctuary to stay.
Over the years, I took in a few, but most preferred to return to the forest with their families, embodying the wild freedom that defines them.
Now, these experiences have inspired our Brumby Experience at Heart Farm. Rescued from our local state forests, our Brumbies have found a sanctuary here, where they can thrive and form deep, meaningful connections with us & those who visit.
